How Sanitary Napkin Dispensers Keep Girls in School

By LPDF Team · May 2026

Addressing the high dropout rates of adolescent girls by installing modern sanitary napkin dispensers and clean incinerators across rural schools.

The Challenge

Across Rural India, a lack of basic menstrual hygiene facilities has quietly pushed thousands of adolescent girls out of school every year — a problem too often left unaddressed.

Our Approach

We installed sanitary napkin dispensers and clean incinerators at partner schools, paired with menstrual health awareness sessions led by trained facilitators and anonymous feedback surveys.

The Impact

Early results are encouraging: teachers report fewer absences around menstruation, and girls themselves say they feel more confident coming to school every day of the month.
