A safer and more secure learning environment for children at Chanchar Primary School.
The Challenge
Chanchar Primary School needed a secure boundary around its learning space. The absence of a proper boundary made it difficult to create a clearly protected environment for children, teachers and the wider school community.
For a rural school, a safe physical environment is an important part of creating the conditions where children can attend, learn and participate with confidence.

The Chanchar School boundary wall under construction, February 2025.
Our Approach
The project was approached as a community effort. Local stakeholders, teachers and partners worked together to support the construction of a secure boundary wall around Chanchar Primary School.
The goal was simple: create a safer school environment while strengthening a sense of ownership and pride among the people connected to the school.

The Impact
The completed boundary wall has helped create a safer and more defined learning environment for children at Chanchar Primary School. More importantly, the project reflects what can happen when a school and its surrounding community work toward a shared goal.
The wall is more than a physical structure. It represents collective effort, community ownership and a commitment to creating better conditions for children in marginalized rural communities.
